Experiencing Gratitude of my relationship with my Mind
Written by: Ramon Andres Castellon I’m grateful to have developed metacognition. It’s been a learned skill, and now I notice my ego every day. It isn’t hard to see, but it can either drain my energy or guide me toward healthier choices. I’ve also noticed something interesting. When I share content that isn’t fully my own, it often gets more attention. But when I create something original, the response is smaller than I expect. In those moments, I can clearly hear the ego trying to undermine my work with negative self talk and low-energy feedback. What’s different now is that I don’t take it personally. I see it happening in real time, and honestly, it’s almost funny. I’ve built a kind of friendship with my ego. I’m aware of it, I learn from it, and I keep moving forward. It feels like a gift to observe myself this way. To allow learning in every part of my mind and heart. There’s less self judgment, fewer repeated patterns. I’m becoming more whole. And I’ve come to understand that sometimes we need to feel stuck in order to learn how to move. The trap itself becomes the lesson.. It involves noticing your thoughts, understanding why you think a certain way, and adjusting your reactions when needed. This skill helps with learning, decision-making, and emotional control by allowing a person to step back from automatic reactions and respond more intentionally. #mindfulness #healimg #clarity #metacognition #adhdlife
