The same mechanism that creates an unhealthy pattern can also create a constructive one.
Exercise can become normal. Reading can become normal. Meditation can become normal. Saving money can become normal. Cleaning up after yourself can become normal. Going to bed consistently can become normal. Having difficult conversations instead of avoiding them can become normal. Keeping your word can become normal.
The challenge is that many positive habits are uncomfortable before they become comfortable.
Working out can be uncomfortable. Getting up earlier can be uncomfortable. Saying no can be uncomfortable. Setting boundaries can be uncomfortable. Admitting you were wrong can be uncomfortable. Learning something new can be uncomfortable. Sitting quietly without your phone can be uncomfortable.
But discomfort does not automatically mean something is wrong.
Sometimes discomfort is evidence that we are interrupting an old pattern.
