Welcome, welcome, welcome!
𝐇𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐬, 𝐈’𝐦 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐚 — 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐩𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞. I retired from The Boeing Company in 2016 and took off traveling the world… until the world decided to shut down. Turns out, that was perfect timing to retire from my other career as a midwife and doula too. (Yes, I’ve spent decades helping people get born—one way or another.) Then came the chapter nobody glamorizes: helping my parents through their last years. When they were gone, I didn’t just hit a rough patch—I hit pothole after pothole until I fell into a full-blown trench. So, I did what I’ve always done when life doesn’t go as planned: I started building a process. Writing, journaling, designing systems that would pull me out of the hole one honest page at a time. While I was the oldest granddaughter, the oldest daughter, I'm now the unofficial oldest everything in most groups I join, but this time I’m using that role to help other women rise too. I built Sage Rebellion for women who refuse to fade out quietly. Now it’s your turn—tell me your story. Where are you from, what sparked your fire, and what brought you here? I absolutely love meeting new people and hearing their stories. Please share something about yourself and let us get to know you.
Welcome, welcome, welcome!
𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
It’s about refusal. I used to think staying required courage. Or clarity. Or certainty. It doesn’t. 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙣𝙚𝙜𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚. Confidence comes later. Clarity follows action. Certainty is never guaranteed. What is available is a decision. To speak while unsure. To act before ready. To remain visible when retreat would be easier. Staying is not loud. It’s steady. And over time, it rebuilds something essential. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁. Not in the outcome. In yourself.
No Quiet Exit
Here I am. I let myself disappear. I launched Sage Rebellion. Then I let myself fade away. Not dramatically. Not with excuses. Just slowly enough to let myself believe it didn’t matter. 𝗜𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱! I am not here to apologize or explain. I am here to return out loud. Here is what I know now, without debate: Most people are not lazy. They are skilled at disappearing when something begins to matter. We rename it rest. We call it discernment. We wait for clarity. But often, it is fear of being seen trying. Sage Rebellion exists to interrupt that pattern. Including me. This is not a space for endless insight or private It is a space where disappearance gets named. We do not need a polished dream to begin. We need to stop turning away from what already matters. This is not about reinvention. It is about staying. Staying visible. Staying in conversation. Staying long enough to trust yourself again. If you have been quiet here, you are welcome back. Not with reasons. With honesty. If you are new and something in this feels uncomfortably familiar, you are welcome too. But know this: We will be kind. And we will be direct. Disappearance will not be ignored. 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄. Not fearless. Not perfect. Present. That is the work. And the invitation.
No Quiet Exit
Disappearing is rarely obvious.
It's usually a quiet fade away. That’s why it works. Most people don’t disappear by quitting. They disappear by becoming reasonable. They rest. They wait. They gather more information. They tell themselves they’re being patient or practical. But underneath, something else is happening. They are avoiding the moment where effort becomes visible. Disappearing doesn’t look like failure. It looks like delay with good manners. And the cost is never immediate. It’s cumulative. Each quiet retreat makes the next one easier. Each pause trains the nervous system to choose comfort over truth. Staying isn’t dramatic. It’s not heroic. It’s choosing not to step away from what you already know matters. That choice is rarely celebrated. But it changes everything.
