Asking "is it optimal?" might be keeping you stuck.
One of the common issues I see DAILY within the fitness and nutrition industry is everyone wanting to get super in the weeds of what is "optimal." The issue I have with this is that you will literally over-complicate this shit 🤣.
Asking which angle or grip is "most optimal" for a curl is nuts when you aren't even a body building competitor at the peak of their game. Or "is a protein shake or real food most optimal post-workout"
There's so much nuance.
I say this because unless you are nailing your nutrition, lifts, cardio, recovery....the nitty gritty will NOT matter and you will get lost in it all.
There is a hierarchy to this that I tend to follow.
  1. Nutritional adherence - plans followed to a T
  2. Training- also plans followed to a T and training near or at failure for a hypertrophic response
  3. Recovery- sleep and stress is well in-check
  4. Nitty gritty stuff is last!
Build your foundation on the basics (#1-3 above) and GET REALLY GOOD AT THE BASICS.
They will take you further than any "optimizing" will.
Happy Wednesday homies
