My success must glorify God
Psalm 30:11-12: "You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, to the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever"
David was saying here that all his success and glory will point back to God.
Nothing we achieve is in our own strength, and we should never lose sight of that.
But notice that there were times of mourning for David; he did not have a perfect life. He had his share of hardships and trials, but he always spoke to God; he shared his burdens with God and gave Him the glory for the victories or hurdles he overcame.
If you read through the psalms, you can clearly see the ups and downs of David's emotions and thoughts - it shows us that we are human and that it is ok to go through these times. The difference is to not camp in those places of doubt, fear, sadness - lift your head and glorify God, He is the lifter of our heads, our provider, our comforter, and He will turn mourning into dancing! And when He does, give Him the glory because we can do nothing in our own strength.
Don't cry out to Him in the hard times and go silent in the good times.
