Faith works by Love
This was the key verse and message by our pastor yesterday. I had to share it because it was so powerful.
2 Thessalonians 1:3 Paul writes to the church "your faith grows exceedingly and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure"
Their faith grew exceedingly
They had love for one another
While facing persecutions and tribulations
We all have a measure of faith given to us, but your faith grows through resistance and trials and by love.
Just like a muscle that is put through training in the gym, resistance and weight causes the muscles to grow and become big and strong - the same with your faith, if you don't exercise it, it won't grow.
How do we exercise our faith - by walking in love for one another, for moving beyond ourselves to others.
Love fuels faith
When people bump into you, they should bump into Jesus.
After the resurrection Jesus showed his scars. We are healed and we were saved by His scars.
Don't hide your scars, show them, because it might be just the thing that someone can relate to and you can bring them closer to Jesus.
