THE SHREDDER
The Shredder is a close-range self-protection concept developed by Richard Dimitri as part of the Senshido system. Rather than relying on a fixed sequence of techniques, it uses continuous, non-stop pressure at extremely close range.
The concept focuses on targeting sensitive areas of the face and head through natural actions such as palming, raking, clawing, pulling and manipulating, while maintaining forward pressure and disrupting the aggressor’s balance, vision and ability to continue the attack.
One of its key principles is adaptability: there is no predetermined combination. The practitioner responds to the opponent’s reactions and keeps working until an opportunity to disengage and escape becomes available.
The Shredder is not designed for competition or exchanging techniques. Its purpose is survival in a real violent confrontation, particularly when space is limited and conventional striking becomes difficult.
