Optimal Sacrifices
We are all making sacrifices in life. How do you know you're making ones you're happy and proud of?
A 'good' sacrifice would be an example like chess. If you can bait the opponent with a lower quality character - pawn - to take out a higher value one, then that's a 'good' sacrifice. Something lower for something of greater value. Right?
So what sacrifices are you making to exchange lower value for higher value in life? It comes in ALL forms.
Time to cook - healthier body
Time checking in on friends - harmonious relationships
Work for $$$... but are we content with that value exchange?
Where is the discontent in your life? It may be attached to a value exchange you may be unhappy with, but haven't yet put it into words.
I was unhappy being so exhausting being a physical labourer. I put a lot of pride in being the strongest worker. But I was just the most tired guy getting paid the same as the laziest guy. It is WISDOM and TEACHABILITY that raises your salary. So I became a learner, so I could replace my physical labour and delegate projects. Some people are happy to explore the pride of strong workers, but we need a backbone to ask how we may elevate our value and position ourselves in new skills to actually elevate our compensation.
You're allowed to be discontent IF you are willing to do the uncomfortable work and navigate into the unknown and explore different variations of sacrifice to feel contentment with your energetic exchange in the world.
What sort of 'good' sacrifices have you made in your life? How did it feel navigating those choices?
