Family Brutally Attacked.
July 9th, 1996. A family is brutally attacked on a walk in England. Dr. Lin Russell, her two daughters, Josie and Megan, and their dog, Lucy, are all brutally attacked by a man wielding a hammer on their way home to Nonington Village, Kent, England, after a swimming gala. Forcing them to sit down in the woods, the attacker blindfolded and tied up his victims with their torn towels and then bludgeoned them one by one. Nine-year-old Josie, the sole survivor of the vicious assault, had to relearn to speak after surgeons inserted a metal plate into her head to cover the area where her skull had been smashed. Some of her brain tissue was so damaged that it had to be removed. Finally, on July 17 of the following year, Michael Stone, who had a record of burglary and robbery, as well as a history of drug abuse and mental illness, was arrested. He had been recognized after the broadcast of a BBC television special that included his picture and description. Asked by detectives where he was on the day of the murders, Stone replied, “I can’t remember for two reasons. One, I was badly on drugs, and two, it was so long ago.” During the trial, several witnesses testified against Stone. One maintained that the defendant’s stepfather often beat young Michael with a hammer; several prison inmates (Barry Thompson, Damien Daley, and Mark Jennings) claimed that Stone had confessed to the murders on separate occasions; and a couple, Sheree Batt and Lawrence Calder, alleged that Stone had come to their house the morning after the murders wearing blood-splattered clothing. On October 23, 1998, the 38-year-old Stone was convicted and given a triple life sentence, despite his repeated claims of innocence. Immediately thereafter, Barry Thompson contacted a daily newspaper to retract his testimony. Based on Thompson’s admission that he lied, a Court of Appeals threw out Stone’s conviction. At a second trial, which ended in early October 2001, he was again convicted and sentenced to three life terms, which he began serving on October 5.

McDonald's
July 18th, 1984 Twenty-one people are shot to death at McDonald’s James Oliver Huberty opens fire in a crowded McDonald’s restaurant in San Ysidro, California, killing 21 people and wounding 19 others with several semi-automatic weapons. Minutes earlier, Huberty had left home, telling his wife, “I’m going hunting…hunting for humans.” Huberty, who had a history of mental problems, lost his job in Ohio the previous year. He brought his family to San Diego and worked as a security guard until he was fired again, a month before the shootings. His wife claimed that Huberty called a mental health clinic to make an appointment for counseling but was never called back. Huberty had a love affair with guns, keeping a small arsenal in his bedroom. Neighbors described him as very angry. Bringing several of these guns into the McDonald’s two miles from the Mexican border, Huberty demanded that the 45 patrons get on the floor. He then walked around the restaurant, calmly shooting people. He killed 20 in the first ten minutes, including four who tried to escape. There were so many shots fired that the police first assumed that there was more than one gunman inside. Firing at a fire truck that responded to the scene, Huberty also grazed one firefighter with a bullet. An hour after the shooting began, an employee managed to escape through the basement and inform the SWAT team that Huberty was alone and without hostages. With this information, sharpshooters were told to “take him out.” A marksman sent a shot through Huberty’s chest and killed him. After making sure that he was dead, police finally entered the restaurant. San Diego Police Chief William Kolender said, “I hope to God I never see such a thing again.”

Kaylee Sawyer, Who Killed Her?
Kaylee Sawyer’s Murder: How Did She Die? Who Killed Her? How Did Kaylee Sawyer Die? Kaylee Sawyer of Bend, Oregon, was just 23 years old when she ended up losing her life. On July 23, 2016, she went downtown to attend a close friend’s bachelorette party, calling her boyfriend, Cameron Reimhofer, at around midnight to come and pick her up. While the couple was on their way back to their shared apartment near a community college, they got into an argument, which led to Kaylee walking away into the night upon their return. Cameron texted and called his girlfriend a few times to persuade her to come back, but she refused, and her last message to him was a bone-chilling one-word “Goodbye” before her phone switched off. At first, Cameron wasn’t worried as Kaylee often preferred to be by herself after a fight to cool off. But once he realized that she never went to her family’s house and even failed to show up for work the next day, he reported her missing. And soon, an extensive search for Kaylee began, yet she was nowhere to be found. On July 26, though, after a confession, Kaylee’s body was discovered on the side of the road near 18700 West Highway 126. An autopsy confirmed that her cause of death was blunt force trauma, with evidence of skull fractures, strangulation, and sexual assault. Her injuries also showed that she had unsuccessfully tried to fight for her life. At first, because of the circumstances surrounding Kaylee Sawyer’s disappearance, suspicion fell on her boyfriend. But his name was cleared on July 25, 2015, once Isabel Ponce-Lara, a new Bend Police Officer, went to the Richmond Police Department to report that her husband had confessed to killing a woman. Isabel said that she had questioned her husband’s, Edwin Enoc Lara’s, strange behavior that morning, after which he broke down. She said that he, a part-time security guard at the Central Oregon Community College, told her that he ran over a woman – Kaylee – in his security vehicle while at work in the early hours of July 24. And then, frantic, he dumped her body far away.

The Story Of Adriana
The Story Of Adriana Olivia Kuch: On February 1st, 2023, she was beaten unconscious in the school hallway by a group of 4 older girls, one of whom struck her with a heavy plastic water bottle so hard the cap flew off. At least one of the girls even blamed her for the assault! They filmed the whole thing and posted it to Tiktok. By the end of the assault, Adriana was unconscious, bruised, bloodied, and humiliated. She should have been transported to a hospital, but the school nurse decided not to do so and instead allowed her to call her father once she came to. Adriana and her father went straight to a police station to file a police report on the attack that she had suffered. But the worst part was yet to come. Once they got home, she discovered the video, which had gone viral. In the comments section, there were vile statements and comments directed towards her. The video was taken down, but the attackers quickly reuploaded it, along with screenshots of the video and the comments that were made. It took a massive toll on her mental health, and roughly 36 hours later, she hanged herself in a closet. Adriana Kuch died by suicide at midnight on February 3rd, and by the time she was discovered some six hours later, her body was likely already showing signs of rigor mortis. Police eventually charged the attackers with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. But the school’s response shocked everyone. They decided to blame her suicide on drugs and family issues, which was practically a slap in the face to her father. At her closed casket wake, there were multiple instances where a few stupid students decided to mock her family, and it took a call to the police to get them removed. This led to her funeral being cancelled, her body was cremated and as a result of this, she would never get a dignified memorial. By now, her case had gained national attention, and outlets such as CNN, NBC and even Fox were covering the development of the story. Reporters were stationed at strategic locations, such as outside the funeral home. When they interviewed her friends and family, they said that Adriana was a kind person at her heart, and she would never get into fights with anyone.

Killed By Own Father.
Autopsy Results Released for Decker Sisters, Who Police Believe Were Killed by Dad. The bodies of Paityn Decker, 9, Evelyn Decker, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5, were found on June 2 — three days after they were last seen with their father, Travis Decker, who remains missing. Authorities have announced the official causes of death for three girls who were alleged to have been killed by their father. Paityn Decker, 9, Evelyn Decker, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5, were found dead near the Rock Island Campground in Chelan County, Wash., on June 2, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office previously said. The girls were reported missing on May 30 after they had not returned from a planned visitation with their father, 32-year-old Travis Decker. In a press release shared with PEOPLE on Monday, June 9, the CCSO said an autopsy was completed by the medical examiner on Friday, June 6. "The cause of death was determined to be suffocation, and the manner of death was determined to be homicide," the release states. The girls' bodies were located after authorities found Travis' pickup truck, in which the sheriff's office said investigators have since collected a "large amount of evidence" including many of his personal items, per the release. "The suspect’s dog was recovered and turned over to the humane society for safe care," the CCSO added. "Blood samples taken from the scene have come back positive for belonging to a male, and another was not human blood. Further DNA and fingerprint analyses are still being conducted." Travis remains missing and is wanted on charges of murder, kidnapping and custodial interference. As of 6 p.m. local time on Sunday, June 8, the CCSO handed over the search efforts for Travis to federal authorities but noted they are still leading the criminal investigation. "We had reached a point where we need to rest our local resources. Our command staff continues to be engaged with the search command while we give our teams time off to rest and recuperate and be ready to rejoin the search for, and capture of, the suspect," the release states.
