Origin Story Attempt (Feedback needed)

Howsit! Thats the phrase I use to greet many friends and family. Im from South Africa - if you’ve ever visited or lived here (you’d hear it quite often). My name is Cameron, I’ve ran a website agency for almost 4 years!

I was always intrigued with the idea of running a business for myself. Ever since I finished school, I studied marketing, got a 9-5. The wake up - get ready for work, sit in traffic - get grilled by your boss to perform miracles, get home, eat, shower - sleep and REPEAT … the 9-5 world. I knew was not going to be for me for very long.

My first client - came from me running ads as a NEWBIE, I didn't know what I was doing, and still managed to get my first client - a dentist needing a website for his practice. Fast forward down the line, I noticed something all my clients had in common that continued hurting my business and the way I wanted to operate.

That is - they didn't care for the websites I created for them, it was just a fancy, shiny toy they wanted to flash to their potential clients. I wanted more success for them - more leads - more bookings - something to justify the return on investment even more.

Soon I realised this was not the market for my business and that we needed to pivot out of the website creation game. I bought many many courses to find solutions… Digital marketing, affiliate marketing, social media coaches - I grew 40x on social media and yet still - inconsistent sales, failed launches and increased credit-card debt. Mind you - in this same year I was planning to get married.

I remember thinking to myself - how am I going to make this work? I need to be supportive to my partner in her ideas for the wedding and I needed to make at least 3x more than I was making at the time.

After scouring the internet, watching tutorial after tutorial on YouTube I came across ai and ai chatbots just when they were being introduced to the market.

It started back then with just chatgpt. I tried selling prompts, prebuilt BOTs (with my very first chatbot). At first - no success. I then packaged it up as an offer, no ads, no outreach just instagram reels.

One day during my honeymoon - I got a notification from stripe - someone “Purchased your ai bundle”. I knew right then, this was how I wanted to build my business. “Prebuilt” products, automated sales system, no outreach or left on read msgs, no missed appointments or draining marketing methods. I wanted people to be able to find me and trust me to bring the solution to their business.

I doubled down and worked even harder to a point where I can now sell the knowledge on how to create and/or sell AI bots that become assets for any business and be sold for any amount of money.

Thus the start of the “Powered by BOTs” movement.
