This kit is for schools that say:
- “We’re happy with our current photographer.”
- “Now isn’t a good time.”
- “Maybe next year.”
Goal: Stay welcome, stay remembered, and be the first call when they’re ready.
This is not a sales push. It’s professional, respectful relationship-building.
WHEN TO USE THIS KIT
Use immediately after:
- A call where they’re happy with their current photographer
- A polite email response declining for now
- A conversation that ends with “not right now”
WHAT’S INSIDE THE KIT
1️⃣ “Not Yet Is Okay” EMAIL (Send Within 48 Hours)
Purpose: Remove pressure + earn trust
Subject Line Options:
- Totally understand — thanks for sharing
- Appreciate you getting back to me
- Happy to stay in touch
Email Template:
Hi {{Name}},
Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with me / respond — I really appreciate it.
I completely understand staying with a photographer you’re happy with. That kind of consistency matters so much in schools.
If it’s okay with you, I’d love to stay in touch and be a resource if you ever need one — whether that’s for future picture days, special events, or even just quick questions.
No pressure at all. I’m always happy to reconnect when the timing feels right.
Warmly, Lauryn
2️⃣ HANDWRITTEN CARD (Optional but Powerful)
Timing: 3–5 days after email
Purpose: Be memorable + human
Card Script:
Hi {{Name}},
Just wanted to say thank you again for the kind conversation. I loved learning more about your school.
If our paths cross again down the road, I’d love that — and if not, I wish you a smooth and joyful school year.
— Lauryn
3️⃣ ADD THEM TO THE “NOT YET” NURTURE LIST
Purpose: Gentle visibility without selling
Cadence:
Content Themes:
- Picture day tips for directors
- Behind-the-scenes moments
- How you handle common pain points (tears, weather, shy kids)
- Seasonal reminders (graduation, spring photos, class groups)
Rule: If it sounds like a sales email, rewrite it.
4️⃣ SEASONAL CHECK-IN EMAIL (60–90 DAYS LATER)
Purpose: Re-open the door respectfully
Subject Line Options:
- Quick check-in as we head into {{season}}
- Planning ahead for {{Fall/Spring}}
Email Template:
Hi {{Name}},
I hope your school year is going well! I’m starting to plan ahead for {{season}} and just wanted to gently check in.
If you’re still happy with how things are going, that’s wonderful — and if you ever find yourself needing a backup, fresh option, or help with a specific event, I’d love to be a resource.
Either way, I hope the rest of your season is smooth and stress-free.
Best, Lauryn
5️⃣ VALUE TOUCH (NO ASK)
Timing: Between seasonal check-ins
Options:
- Mail or email a 1-page “Picture Day Tips for Teachers” sheet
- Share a short win or story from another school

Purpose: Stay relevant without asking for anything
6️⃣ YEARLY RE-ENTRY TOUCH
Timing: 9–12 months later
Purpose: Become the obvious next option
Script (Email or Call):
Hi {{Name}},
We connected last year and I just wanted to check in as schools start planning for the upcoming year.
If you’re reviewing photographers or open to a conversation, I’d love to reconnect. And if not, no worries at all — I’m always happy to stay in touch.
Warmly, Lauryn
