What's in your kitchen that can lower cholesterol? fast!
Check this out! My LDL (bad) cholesterol was creeping up and my doc wanted to put me on a statin, I said, "give me 2 months" That was June, went back in August and I lowered my LDL by 28 points and my total cholesterol by 23 points in 2 months! That'ts a WIN! I cut out cheese and did one other thing - curious? ask me about that ...
Like a Traffic Jam
Why do people with diabetes or pre-diabetes often have high cholesterol? When blood sugar runs high โ€” or even slightly high in pre-diabetes โ€” the body tries to store that extra sugar. And it does it in the most old-fashioned way possible: 1. Insulin stops working well โ†’ liver makes more fat When cells ignore insulin, sugar canโ€™t get inside. The liver steps in and says, โ€œFine, Iโ€™ll turn this into fat instead.โ€ That fat becomes triglycerides, and triglycerides pull LDL (โ€œbadโ€ cholesterol) up with them. 2. Sugar damages cholesterol particles Extra sugar โ€œrustsโ€ LDL particles. They become small, sticky, and dangerous โ€” the kind that clog arteries. The body responds by pumping out more LDL to compensate. 3. Insulin resistance slows cholesterol cleanup Normally, HDL (โ€œgoodโ€ cholesterol) helps clean up excess fat. But insulin resistance dulls HDLโ€™s broom โ€” cleanup slows โ†’ cholesterol builds up. 4. Liver gets overloaded. The liver becomes a busy traffic circle of sugar-to-fat conversion. More fat inside the liver = more cholesterol in the bloodstream. The nutshell: High sugar โ†’ insulin resistance โ†’ liver makes more fat โ†’ cholesterol rises. Like a traffic jam started by sugar, ending with LDL and triglycerides stuck on the highway ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ”’
