ONLY YOU JESUS: A Quiet Return (Written and sung by Evelyn)
There are moments when the soul feels tired not for lack of faith, but due to the weight we have been carrying: pain, noise, concerns, many attachments that quietly pull at the heart.
“Only You, Jesus” is an invitation to turn toward Him, the One who waits patiently, always.
Be still and know that I am God, and rest in Me. Let the words draw your heart back to its centre.
Our hearts, made solely for God, are restless until they rest in Jesus, cried St. Augustine. But before him, the Master knew, understood and beckoned. Come to me all ye that labour, and are overwhelmed and tired. I Jesus, have borne all your grief and carried your sorrows and will refresh you. Rest in me.
Where has my heart been wandering? What is Jesus asking me to place in His hands? Do I trust Him enough to let Him be enough to recognise His abiding soothing, Presence?
Close your eyes, place your heart in His and whisper quietly: “Only You, my Jesus.”
