Welcome to Practical Health with Beata! I'm so glad you're here.
This is a place for real food, real life and real answers. No perfection, no complicated rules, no pressure to change everything overnight. Here's how we'll use this space: Ask Beata: bring me your questions about food, protein, fiber, labels, cooking and everyday habits. Share your meals: show me what you're eating and we'll make it work even better. Recipe makeovers: bring a recipe you already love and we'll make it healthier together. Learn from each other: you don't need to be perfect to belong here. I'll be sharing my own meals, thoughts and lessons from real life, and we'll go live together from my kitchen. If English is ever hard for you, you're always welcome to message me privately in Polish. Now I'd love to meet you! Tell me in the comments: 1. Your name and where you're joining from 2. One thing about eating healthy that confuses or frustrates you right now 3. Bonus: share a photo of what you're eating today, even if it's simple I'll answer every comment. Let's make healthy living practical, together. Beata

Restoration Monday
Weekends are a little different for all of us. Mine means no workouts, but I still eat well, drink my water, read, sleep, and walk. Then Monday comes, and getting back to it is hard. I'm not going to lie. If it's easy for you, hallelujah. For me, it's not. So every Monday in this community is Restoration Monday. Not one big restart a year. Just coming back to our rhythm, one Monday at a time. This is the one I did this morning: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DdaNtLguQTm/?cplk=Z2lubHl0aWZqMXds It's the first exercise I do on my workout days. I'm not a trainer, I'm just sharing what I love right now. Tell me in the comments: did you move today? Even five minutes counts. And if today wasn't your day, you're still right here with us. Next Monday is waiting for you. How is your Monday restoration going?

Ever opened your labs and seen a big red HIGH next to a number?
Suddenly the eggs are scary and the butter is gone from the fridge. Before we make one number our whole mission, I always want to know what is going on in the body that number belongs to. Your thyroid, your blood sugar, your hormones, your sleep, your stress. The number is a clue, not the whole story. So tell me, when a result comes back flagged, what do you do first? (Vote below, and tell me your story in the comments. No wrong answers here.)

My cart this week, This is what I bought this week.
Not a perfect cart. Not a staged cart. Just my real one, from my real shopping trip. Here is something you might notice. I'm not buying a lot of things. I buy the same things, or very similar things, week after week. Then I cook from them. That is the whole secret. A few simple foods I know how to use, and a kitchen that feels easy instead of overwhelming. Here's what was in my cart: Eggs and chicken: Nellie's free range eggs and chicken thighs Ground beef: chuck Ground beef: chuck Yogurt: Oui whole milk yogurt Cheese: BelGioioso Parmesan and Athenos feta Dairy free option: Forager cashew coconut yogurt Creamers: Nutpods in hazelnut and caramel, plus a vanilla almond creamer Canned goods: Full Circle organic diced tomatoes (no salt added) and organic beans (low sodium) Tortillas: Siete almond flour Produce: yellow onions, red onions, avocado, and potatoes You do not have to shop like me. You do not have to buy any of this. You are not behind if your cart looks different. I'm just showing you what real life looks like on my side, so you can take what helps and leave the rest. I will keep posting my cart here, and the full list lives in the Classroom, right next to the recipes, so when you see a recipe you will know exactly where the ingredients come from. Now I'm curious about you. Is there something in my cart that made you stop and think, "Why does she buy that?" Ask me. I love these questions. Drop it in the comments and I will tell you exactly why it's in my cart.

Beef Taco Skillet Meat
A quick, high protein dinner made with my homemade taco seasoning and homemade tomato paste. No shells, no cheese, no sour cream, just real food in one pan. Serves: 4 Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: about 20 minutes INGREDIENTS 500 grams (about 1 pound) ground beef 200 grams (1 medium) brown onion, cut small 2 garlic cloves, minced 60 grams (about 4 tablespoons) avocado oil 50 grams (about 3 tablespoons) homemade tomato paste 70 milliliters (about 1/3 cup) water 20 to 30 grams (about 3 to 4 tablespoons) homemade taco seasoning To serve: shredded iceberg or romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, and lime wedges. STEPS 1. Heat 2 tablespoons (30 grams) of the avocado oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, until soft and translucent. Add the garlic and stir for 1 minute. 2. Turn the heat up to medium high. Add half of the ground beef (250 grams) and cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, for 5 to 6 minutes, until no pink is left. Move it to a bowl and set aside. 3. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons (30 grams) of avocado oil and the other half of the beef (250 grams). Cook it the same way, 5 to 6 minutes, until no pink is left. 4. Return the first batch of beef to the pan. Add the tomato paste, water, and taco seasoning. 5. Stir well, turn the heat to low, and simmer for 3 minutes, until the sauce is thick and coats the meat. 6. Serve in lettuce cups or over a bed of lettuce with fresh tomatoes and a squeeze of lime. MEAL PREP NOTE The meat keeps in the fridge for 3 to 4 days, and it freezes well in single portions. NUTRITION FACTS Estimates per portion, which is one quarter of the batch, about 125 grams of raw beef. They assume 85 percent lean ground beef, all the oil staying in the pan, and no draining. Meat mixture only: about 445 calories, 25 grams of protein, 34 grams of fat, 9 grams of carbohydrates, and 2.5 grams of fiber. With 1 cup of lettuce and half a tomato: about 460 calories, 26 grams of protein, 34 grams of fat, 12 grams of carbohydrates, and 3.5 grams of fiber.
