New Challenge Suggestion!

I watched Finkle’s latest kiln opening yesterday (she is so inspiring) and she had mentioned that her “sunset on route something or other” sold better than other glaze combos because it had a shared local experience that people could relate to. I immediately was inspired to do a “sunrise on McDill” mug to capture the sunrises I get over the little Wisconsin lake in the US I live on.

I got to work late last night and layered all stable Laguna Versa and Amaco Celedons in an impressionist style on the outside and all reactive runny glazes on the inside mirroring the same colors gradients on the outside. Pray to your kiln Gods for me cause I am going to fire this mug tonight in my test kiln. 🙏 👻

Would you consider doing a local landscape glaze challenge. I think it could be fun especially because we are a global community of badass potters and the diversity in our locations would be beautiful to see in glaze. 🩷
