Anyone else feeling unmotivated today???
The poet T. S. Eliot famously said "April is the cruelest month." For me, January is the cruelest month. It's a dreary month with nothing notable to look forward to.
September through December are my favorite months. September ushers in the fall season with fall leaves and fall colors, followed by my October birthday and the liveliness of Halloween, the family get togethers for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love to see homes and shops decorated with Christmas lights and holiday decor, all of which will be gone soon. The days before Christmas leading up to New Year's are days when I feel I can give myself permission to stop, slow down, slack off and relax. But .. In just a few short days it will be time to take down my Christmas tree with its Christmas lights that always cheer me up. My daughter will be returning to Brooklyn and I'll be alone again, working to muster up the motivation and energy to get back to business and make my millions.
Before my divorce in 2021, December 15 was our wedding anniversary, then there was Christmas to look forward to and my son's birthday on December 28 (today.). As the countdown to 2026 begins, I am not looking forward to getting back to work for real.
Anyone else feel this way? Am I the only one? Are you all chomping at the bit to get going again?
