Alright, let’s talk Instagram for a second 👀✨
IG just confirmed what many of us have already been noticing and since Instagram is one of the main platforms, you already know I’m going to keep you in the loop.
Instagram is officially moving toward using fewer hashtags.
👉 The new recommendation: 3–5 hashtags per post or Reel Posting more than that? Not necessary anymore.
Here’s the part that actually matters:
Instagram shared that fewer, more intentional hashtags can improve performance because they create a cleaner viewing experience and help content reach the right audience not just more people.
Personally?
Hashtags have never been my main growth driver.
Yes, I’ve been discovered and even booked through them in the past but this year, they haven’t played a major role for me at all.
And that’s the key takeaway…
Hashtags are still a support tool, not the strategy.
They’re not completely dead but they’re also not something to obsess over.
So what should you do moving forward?
➡️ Use 3–5 hashtags that truly describe your content
➡️ Skip overly generic hashtags
➡️ Use wording your audience would actually search for
From what we’re seeing, Instagram is clearly shifting toward:
✨ Less clutter
✨ More clarity
✨ More human, relevant content
Which is exactly why I keep saying this in the community:
Use AI as a tool, not a replacement. Your voice, perspective, and personality are about to matter more than ever.
This isn’t about panic and it’s definitely not “everything changing again.”
Social media will always evolve.
This is about adapting, staying ahead, and moving with the platform instead of fighting it.
And you already know — I’ll always keep you updated when the rules quietly shift.
