Editing - Don't really know what I am doing!
Good morning! I hope everyone’s weekend is going well.
For those who self-edit how do you do it?
I’m obviously a novice. On my first edit, I pasted my chapters into ChatGPT one at a time and asked it to look for inconsistencies, which definitely helped, but it’s not perfect. Now I’m on my second round of editing Echoes in the Gears. I have my proof copy, and I’m reading it on paper (which I prefer), highlighting and making notes. So far, I’ve re-edited the first six chapters.
Is there a specific way to edit? I have ADHD and serious brain fog, so I forget details really easily even in my own story! Is this normal? Do you all remember everything you’ve written?
Do you just read through over and over looking for errors, or do you have a method?
