Play From The Heart 💜 - What To Do First This is a warm, encouraging space for singers and instrumentalists who want to grow in confidence, skill, and joy — without the perfectionism that usually comes with learning music. Here's how to get the most out of being here: 1. Introduce yourself 👋 Head to the [Introduce Yourself] post and tell us your instrument (or voice!), how long you've been playing, and one thing you're hoping to get out of this community. 2. Grab your workbook 📖 Head to the Classroom and download Play From The Heart: The Workbook — a gentle four-step journal to help you reconnect with why you make music in the first place. 3. Join a practice session 🎼 Check the Calendar for our weekly practice session — no pressure to be "ready," just come as you are. 4. Explore the Classroom 🎵 New courses are added monthly — practice strategies, ear training, theory made simple, and more. Work through them at your own pace. 5. Share your wins, big or small 🌟 This community celebrates the small stuff too — a tricky passage that finally clicked, showing up on a hard day, anything. We love cheering each other on here. Remember: making music was never about being perfect. It's about connection. So glad you're part of this. 💜
🎼 YOU'RE INVITED! 🎼
I'm so excited to share this! EEK! In this last part of the August practice challenge we are going to build a VIRTUAL ORCHESTRA!! It will be inside this community. I'd love you to be part of the fun AND there is a cool prize too. Please invite friends who play an instrument or sing and help us to build our orchestra together! (This requires only 1 minute of your time each day till the end of August) and I know you'll enjoy it and it will help your practising too. More deets tomorrow!!!

🎶 DAILY NOTE #3
Sing your music 🎵 💡 TIP Here's one that singers already know — but instrumentalists sometimes forget: Your voice is an instrument too. Singing or humming your melody can help you develop your sense of pitch, phrasing and musical direction. And you don't need to sing loudly! You can hum quietly, sing in your head, or even silently imagine the melody. 🎹 TRY IT Take one phrase from your piece. 🎵 Sing it. Then ask yourself: Where does the melody want to go? Does it rise? Fall? Build? Relax? ❤️ REMEMBER The more you can hear the music internally, the more freedom you can eventually have when you play it.

🎶 DAILY NOTE #3
Progress
After my first time playing Infront of people (Open mike night) I am feeling so positive today about my journey and my own abilities..... prior to this I was doubting my progress and my ability, my nerves were really bad and at times I have believed I wont be able to truly play the piano. Last night reminded me that I am 7 months in to learning and to enjoy the process. Thank you Katy for putting those types of events on to help people face their fears and conquer them 🩷
Open Mic Night Highlights
In our inaugural open mic night Wendy played Shallow beautifully on the piano, Chris sung Chasing Cars and I Could Have Danced All Night and Katy & Peter played Can’t Help Loving Dat Man and Amazing Grace on piano & violin. Well done ladies!!
