What sports do y'all play?
I'm trying to get a gauge on who's apart of this community so far. Feel free to drop a comment saying who you are, where you're from, what sport you play, and a goal, big or small! I'll start... Yoo! My name is Tristen Howard, I'm from Medford, MA (Greater Boston Area), and I'm a track and field sprinter. I specialize in short sprints, but one day I'd like to complete a Decathalon.

Don't let your ego dig you in a hole
I was talking to one of my athletes today, and he was worried because he felt like he was letting his teammates down by missing track workouts due to hamstring problems. He was asking about how to deal with the mental side of missing training sessions. Here was my response: "Real thing is, letting this (injury) calm down so you can feel 100% is gonna do more for your performance than one workout ever will. It sucks not being able to participate, but that outcome will be better long-term than making it worse right now. As long as you're doing everything you can to handle the issue now, so when it matters (championship season), you're in the best condition possible, then you're not letting anyone down. Honestly, you'd be letting more people down by letting your ego make you hop in the workout (when you shouldn't) and make the injury worse."

Just a thought #7
PRing means, "I've unlocked a new level of potential, not "I've hit my limit". I believe there's no true "genetic potential". Yes, there's varying time limits to make it as far up the totem poll as you can in each sport, but I don't think we can ever hit our limit until our biological clock literally starts atrophying the body. If health intact, progressive overload utilized, load management prioritized, system regulated, and sport specific qualities are developed, we will keep rising closer to the top!
