Two handed drilling
Here are the top ten things beginners need to learn l!!
1. How to Hold the Paddle (Grip) - Start with the continental grip (like shaking someone’s hand). - Gives the most control for dinks, volleys, and serves. 2. Ready Position - Knees slightly bent, paddle up in front of you. - Helps react faster at the kitchen line. 3. Basic Serve Mechanics - Underhand, contact below the waist. - Focus on consistency over power. - Aim deep into the opponent’s court. 4. Return of Serve Fundamentals - Return deep to push opponents back. - Gives time to get to the non-volley zone. 5. Understanding the Kitchen (Non-Volley Zone) - Learn what you can and cannot do: No volleys in the kitchen. But you can step in to hit a bounced ball. - - Beginners should practice staying up at the line. 6. Dinking Technique - Soft shots over the net into the kitchen. - Control > speed. - Builds patience and resets the point. 7. Third Shot Drop - Soft, controlled shot from the baseline into the kitchen. - Lets you and your partner advance safely. - One of the most important skills for leveling up. 8. Footwork & Court Positioning - Move as a team. - Get up to the kitchen line ASAP. - Learn how to split-step and reset for quick reaction. 9. Scoring System - It’s weird for beginners. - You call: Your score Opponent’s score Server number (1 or 2) in doubles - - Understanding this alone makes beginners feel more confident. 10. Basic Strategies & Shot Selection - Hit cross-court to give more margin. - Aim at opponents’ feet. - Patience wins – don’t try to smash every ball. - Pickleball is more about placement than power. Any questions afterwards feel free to comment and I will answer as soon as I can!
