Lately I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to ignore the quiet signs our body (and mind) are giving us. The tiredness we push through.The stress we normalize.The nights we tell ourselves “this is just how it is now.” For a long time, I wore being busy and exhausted like a badge of honor. I told myself I’d slow down later. I’d take better care of myself when things weren’t so hectic. But at some point, I realized something had to change. Not because everything was falling apart…But because I didn’t want to wait until it did. What matters most to me now is feeling present. Having energy for the people I love. Waking up without that heavy, run-down feeling and pretending it’s normal. I’m learning that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish — it’s foundational. In the fall, I stood at a temple in Tokyo and pulled a fortune from a wall covered in thousands of them. It was a beautiful peacefull moment. It spoke about business going well.
