Shooting terminology (not necessarily official)
Carreaux
Carreaux sur Place
Tir raffle | Raspaille | (raffle-shot?) = hit the ground maybe a metre in front of target
Casquette = when you hit the ball on the head
Pallet is where you hit a boule in front of the boule and it carries through and gets closer (to the Cochon)
→WHAT DO YOU CALL← when your boule is nearer the jack than the target boule after the shot?
Streifschuss (.de) a glancing shot that barely moves the target Boule
I find conflicting definitions and descriptions of shooting terms. Is there a good source out there I could refer to? Or, *if people give clear definitions below, I could add them to this post.*
Shooting terminology comes mainly from the French language - I include German terms (from the region I play) - *if there's equivalent French or English terms please let me know and I will add.*
