Hey guys! In the quick video, I describe a method for adding details to a painting that has a lot going on.
In this example, the most important point of focus is the baby in the center, so once I blocked in all of my main shapes, I started at the baby’s face and I’m slowly making my way, spiraling out from that point.
Each brush stroke on make is in support of that point of focus. This not only makes it much easier to decide what part to paint next, but it also makes the painting much more cohesive and it gives the eye a natural path through and around the painting.
