A new reason to sketch!
I recently started going out with the sponsored intention of sketching things around my neighborhood that my friends and neighbors would recognize.
I share all of my sketches(some sketches don’t make the cut because they’re more “preliminary”) on my Instagram story, which seems to be the best way to get my work in front of the people I care about.
It has been extremely fulfilling and has helped me connect more with nature and people and life through my art!—which is the goal!
Just remember, when sketching, It’s not about MAKING a drawing, is about DRAWING. Being in the moment and enjoying life through art, not worried about the outcome—perhaps you can be excited or curious about the outcome, but never worry about how “good” it’s going to look or about impressing others or yourself.
If you want to make an impact on others when they see your work, just paint or draw something they’re familiar with. It always sparks joy in people’s eyes when they see some I’ve made that that RECOGNIZE, even if only baaaarely.
