Is it motivation that comes first or inspiration
When I started this permaculture journey, I had a limited understanding of what it actually was. There were no movies out about regenerative agriculture, and I had only heard the word mentioned in magazines about living off the grid. So I had to find my way through. One of the things I thought would have made it more relevant, at least when learning about ethics and principles and the foundation of the design model, was to have a project in mind that I could apply the lessons to in real time. Being that we are at the beginning of this basics course, I challenge you all to share a project you want to work on.
For example, Matt has talked to me offline about building a Walipini greenhouse, and we discussed efficient ways to heat it during the winter months. We can learn how to apply what we're learning exponentially faster by sharing our projects and discussing as a community. We can gain inspiration and learn what works best in our different climates. There are folks here from the PNW, the Southwest, the Southeast, the Midwest, and our community is growing every day.
