Modern Aminos just added a full line of dissolvable strips to their site, and honestly, the pricing is noticeably better than what we've seen from other vendors carrying them. I grabbed a few to check out — Melanotan II, CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin, and the Selank + Semax strips.
Before I get into the unboxing, let me give you some context on why dissolvable strips are interesting — and where the limitations are.
How Dissolvable Strips Work
These are sublingual strips — you place them under your tongue and let them dissolve. The idea is that the peptide absorbs through the thin tissue under your tongue directly into the bloodstream, bypassing your digestive system entirely. That means no stomach acid breaking it down and no liver first-pass metabolism chewing through it before it ever reaches your system.
Sounds great in theory. But there's a catch — and it comes down to molecular weight.
Research shows that sublingual absorption drops off significantly once a compound exceeds about 500-700 Daltons. The larger the molecule, the harder it is to passively diffuse through that sublingual tissue.
So let's look at what we're working with here:
Selank — 751.89 Da — Right at the edge. Selank was originally designed for intranasal delivery in Russia, so mucosal absorption is already part of its design. A sublingual strip is a similar concept — thin mucosal tissue, direct to bloodstream. Of the peptides I'm unboxing, this one makes the most sense for this delivery method.
Semax — 813.92 Da — Slightly larger than Selank but still in a reasonable range. Same story — originally an intranasal peptide, so it's built to absorb through mucosal tissue. Pairing it with Selank in one strip is a smart move.
Melanotan II — 1,024.2 Da — Now we're above 1,000 Da. At this molecular weight, sublingual absorption is going to be lower than subcutaneous. It's a cyclic peptide, which gives it some structural stability advantages, but size is still working against it here. You'll likely need to manage expectations compared to traditional administration.
CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin — This is where it gets tricky. Ipamorelin is 711.87 Da, which puts it in a borderline but workable range. CJC-1295, on the other hand, is 3,367.95 Da — that's a big molecule. At that weight, passive sublingual absorption is going to be very limited. This is the one I'd be most skeptical about in strip form compared to subcutaneous.
That said — strip formulations aren't just raw peptide sitting on a film. These are engineered with permeation enhancers and other delivery technology designed to improve absorption beyond what passive diffusion alone would give you. So the real-world results may be better than the molecular weight alone would suggest. It's still an evolving space and worth watching.

My Take
To be clear — I would always go the peptide route first. Subcutaneous administration is still the gold standard for research when it comes to absorption and bioavailability. If you have the option to go sub-Q, that's the move.
That said, I'm most interested in the Selank + Semax strips. Those two peptides were designed for mucosal absorption from the start, and their molecular weights sit right in the range where sublingual delivery actually makes sense. The convenience factor is huge — no reconstitution, no syringes, no refrigeration hassle. Just a strip under the tongue.
For the Melanotan II and especially the CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin, I'd keep expectations realistic. The molecular weight data tells us absorption rates won't match subcutaneous, but if the convenience trade-off works for your research, the option is there. I'll keep you updated as I spend more time with these.
Either way, it's good to see more delivery options hitting the market. Competition drives innovation and better pricing — and that's a win for everyone 💪
