Amino Tuesday!
🚗 Let's talk about one of the most misunderstood amino acids... L-Carnitine.
If you've spent any time in the health and wellness space, you've probably heard someone call L-carnitine a "fat burner."
That's... not exactly how it works.
Think of L-carnitine as a transport system.
Its job is to help move fatty acids into your cells' "power plants" (the mitochondria), where they can be used to produce energy.
It doesn't magically melt body fat.
It doesn't replace a healthy diet.
It doesn't make exercise unnecessary.
What it can do is support your body's natural ability to use fat for energy, especially when paired with healthy habits.
Some people also report benefits like:
✔️ Improved exercise performance
✔️ Better recovery
✔️ Increased energy
✔️ Support for overall metabolic health
Like anything else, it's not the right fit for everyone, and the research varies depending on the person, the reason it's being used, and the form of L-carnitine.
That's why education matters.
Understanding what something does is far more valuable than believing what social media says it does.
Have you ever tried L-carnitine, or is it something you've been curious about?
