Not gunna lie. I know almost nothing about peptides
However my functional practitioner shared the following and I figured it had to be beneficial for this group! Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. Think of them as “messengers” that tell your cells how to function, repair, and regulate key processes like inflammation, metabolism, immune balance, and tissue healing. Because they are naturally occurring in the body, many peptides are being studied for their ability to support healing in a more targeted and physiologic way compared to traditional interventions. In the functional health and nutrition world, we’re always asking: how do we help the body do what it was designed to do—better? Peptides are one of the tools that can help us do exactly that. Here are several peptides that are gaining attention for their potential benefits: 1. BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) Often called the “healing peptide,” BPC-157 is widely used for gut repair, tendon and ligament healing, and reducing inflammation. It may be especially helpful for those dealing with leaky gut, IBS-type symptoms, or slow injury recovery. 2. TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 fragment) TB-500 is known for its role in tissue regeneration and mobility. It may support muscle repair, reduce inflammation, and improve recovery from injury or overtraining. 3. CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin This combination works by stimulating natural growth hormone release. It is often used to support improved sleep quality, fat metabolism, muscle recovery, and overall vitality—especially in individuals experiencing age-related decline in growth hormone output. 4. GLP-1 peptides (such as Semaglutide or Tirzepatide) These peptides have gained significant attention for their role in blood sugar regulation, appetite control, and metabolic health. Clinically, they are being used to support weight loss and improve insulin sensitivity when paired with lifestyle interventions. 5. Thymosin Alpha-1 A powerful immune-modulating peptide, Thymosin Alpha-1 supports immune resilience and balance. It is often considered in cases of chronic infections, immune dysregulation, or frequent illness.
Post-workout PSA: the muscle you just worked wants 25 to 30g of protein in the next couple hours.
Lifting without the protein is like buying the furniture and never assembling it. The salsa chicken from Monday's post counts. The smoothie counts. Go eat.
Today's lift was HEAVY but quick!
Squats 4x6, Romanian deadlifts 3x8, step-ups 3x8 each leg, and 3 rounds of little hops at the end for my bones (yes, hops, that's the impact thing from Thursday's research post). Remember the rule: if you could easily do 5 more reps, it's not heavy enough. Your bones can't hear the pink dumbbells.
