Intake Day - unwanted behavior cannot happen without the dog’s ability to make free choices. Then… The dogs learn by being ALLOWED to choose their old habits. This is where actual learning begins. You can take away or redirect bad behavior, but given an opportunity, the dog will always choose THEIR preferred option. That’s simple management. This is teaching. Want to see the meat and potatoes? It begins day one. You cannot train commands to a dog that can choose something else.

If you take anything from this learning process, take “No Learning Happens Inside The Comfort Zone.” You’ll see dogs come in with barely any coping skills. They choose flight/escape, freeze/paralysis or fight when their free movement, free choices no longer exists. Yeah, because they’re never made to work THROUGH an UNCOMFORTABLE feeling to a COMFORTABLE one. We coddle, we give in. You’ll see this FULLY on each dog’s intake day. The dog always tells the truth. We just plant the story and narrative.

Here you’ll learn how 4 phases / levels of structure that sets you up for success without GUESSING in all situations. You’ll move IN AND OUT of complete structure, to repetition reminders & follow through, to structured indoor freedom, to structured outdoor freedom. You don’t live in just ONE. You adjust as needed. THAT makes this system successful.
