Setting Up Vanilla Obsidian
Originally I was quite unsure about how I'd be able to teach in this program. Was it going to be purely theory, with videos + text? How would I get people to follow along?
After some thought, I'm choosing to demonstrate building out a minimum viable system as we go through the lessons, showing you how simple personal note-taking really can be.
Today's lesson is the first of these interventions, with me taking stock (or 'vanilla') Obsidian and simplifying it, installing a handful of plugins and deactivating and hiding many others.
Keep in mind we're going to be bringing a few more moving pieces into the vault as we progress, this is simply to put together a clean slate if you're new to the app, and to give you inspiration for how simple things can be if you've already got a vault.
I'll see you back here tomorrow to combine our two lessons - the goals we've set for ourselves, and the new, simple vault we've created!
