Weekly Discussion #33 - The Mothman
A few days late but here is this weeks' discussion, which is the urban legend of The Mothman. What is 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗻? The Mothman is a mysterious creature first seen in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, in 1966 and 1967. Several reports described a winged human-like figure with glowing red eyes, causing both fear and curiosity. The sightings happened around the time of a big infrastructure accident, leading to ongoing arguments about whether the creature was a warning, a mistaken animal, or something unknown. On November 15, 1966, two young couples from Point Pleasant, Roger and Linda Scarberry and Steve and Mary Mallette, told police they saw a large black creature with eyes that "glowed red" standing by the road near "the TNT area," a former World War II munitions plant. Linda Scarberry said it looked like a slim, strong man about seven feet tall with white wings. She couldn’t see its face because its eyes seemed to have a hypnotic power. The scared witnesses drove away fast and said the creature flew after their car, making a screeching sound. It followed them all the way to the edge of Point Pleasant. In the next few days, more people said they saw something like it after local newspapers shared the story. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸: - The creature reportedly flew at high speeds, even keeping up with cars - Witnesses described an overwhelming sense of dread or being watched - Sightings continued for over a year, involving dozens of locals On December 15, 1967, the Silver Bridge collapsed tragically killing 46 people. Many believe Mothman sightings stopped immediately after the collapse. Some interpret Mothman as a harbinger of disaster, not the cause, while others argue it’s a case of retrospective pattern-making—linking unrelated events after the fact. This “omen theory” is one of the most debated aspects in paranormal circles.

Weekly Discussion # 32 - Can Spirits Travel from Location to Location?
This week let’s talk about spirits and portals. Do you believe spirits are tied to a location or can they move to different locations? Possibly through portals? Is their energy tied to one specific location or can a spirit “haunt” more than one location? What are your thoughts?
Weekly Discussion #31 - Mimic spirits or Psychic Imprint?
Here’s a thought. Some locations are said to have spirits that mimic others voices. But what if that voice was just an imprint of your voice that is coming back through a specific frequency. What are your thoughts on this? Have you had an experience where you had heard the voice of a person you know at a haunted location?
Weekly Discussion #30 - The Dyatlov Pass Incident
This week's discussion will be a little different from our usual discussions. I spent way more time on this than I should have, but here we are. I want to discuss the famous Dyatlov Pass incident. Head over to the post I made in the classroom, then come back and let's discuss. https://www.skool.com/paranormalexplorers-collective-9533/classroom/2ce3cfdf?md=a4bd8ff71b1d4a63a03eeb913b3bd848 *Do you feel the avalanche and wind explanation truly explains everything? - What details still feel “off” *Which piece of evidence still feels the most unexplained to you? - Internal injuries without external trauma - Missing tongue and eyes - Radiation traces on clothing - Why were some better dressed than others *Why do we hold onto paranormal explanations even after scientific ones emerge? - Distrust in official narratives - Pattern-seeking in the human brain - Cultural fascination with the unknown If you like discussions like this, let me know, and we can do more.
