Learning Spanish
I really enjoyed(after initial embarrassment) practicing my novice Spanish language skills during my visit recently, and although I built confidence, I also confirmed I need to accelerate my learning before I return. I found a list of 5000 most used words and this seemed like a sensible approach and I am also trying Qroo. Does anyone have suggestions for apps to try? Duolingo (level 15) was a good start, but I will need more…. Thanks!
### What is Your True Currency in an Uncertain World?
Hi everyone, I came across a video that poses a provocative question: In a major systemic collapse, where our current financial and food systems fail, what becomes the real currency for survival? The video argues it's not money, but tangible goods and practical skills—things like food, medicine, fuel, and the knowledge to heal, build, and grow. This got me thinking on a deeper level, moving beyond "prepping" to resilience and community. I'd love to hear your perspective. Let's exchange not from fear, but from wisdom: 1. The "What": If you had to choose, what ONE practical skill (e.g., fermenting, herbal first aid, seed saving, small engine repair) do you believe would be your most valuable asset, and why? 2. The "Who": Beyond goods and skills, what human qualities (e.g., trust, cooperation, storytelling, conflict resolution) would become the true "currency" of a new community? 3. The "Now": How can we start building that resilience today? Is it by learning to grow a kitchen herb garden, forming a local skill-share group, or simply strengthening bonds with our neighbors? This isn't about doomsday; it's about rediscovering the foundational elements of a sustainable life. Our collective knowledge is the most valuable resource we have. Watch the video here if you're curious: [The One Currency That Will Decide Who Survives After Collapse] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nP3N78WluM What are your thoughts? What is your "true currency"?
