Week 3 is where things start to get real.
The dogs now understand the commands inside the training room. They know how to respond to leash pressure. They’ve been introduced to the e-collar the right way. But knowing something inside a quiet room and performing it outside around distractions are two completely different things.
This is the start of the generalization phase.
We begin taking everything they’ve learned and applying it:
• Around other dogs• Around cats
• Around neighborhood distractions
• Inside the home environment
• Around family activity• On structured walks
This is also why our program runs longer than most. We don’t just want dogs that “know it.” We want dogs that can perform without thinking — even when instincts kick in.
You’ll also see:
• Real-world impulse control work
• E-collar communication in context
• Heel work under distraction
• Crate confidence building with Stetson
• How we progress slowly without creating conflict
Aggression, reactivity, or lack of impulse control doesn’t improve by rushing. It improves by repetition, clarity, and controlled exposure.
Week 3 is where the puzzle pieces start coming together.
