Myles - May 2016 Class
There is no May class page so sharing here, so proud of Myles hanging out in "place" tonight. He is such a good boy. He has been so much more enjoyable since he came home. Really thankful for Jeff and Kayla.

Introduction
Hi! My name is Becca. My husband is Brian. Our daughter, Kiera, is in college but lives with us and commutes. We have 4 dogs: Wally (6 year old beagle), Evie (5 year old crazy mixed breed), Mabel (2 year old Great Dane mix) and Eddie (2 year old mix that we rescued from Franklin County in December). At first, Eddie assimilated really well with the other dogs. He learned our routines. He played with Mabel which was great because they would wear each other out. Then one day a dog sitter came over to meet the dogs and Eddie bit her. And then my mother-in-law came over and he bit her. He does get a little angry and growls about getting his paws wiped and personal space. He also tends to lose his mind when someone walks by the house. Oh and he’s also an escape artist and has run away a few times. He’s really fast but he typically find himself at a nice neighbors and he’s fine with them and then we bring him home. Eddie will be starting the program in June and we can’t wait!

food issues
How do you train your dog with their food when it is the size of a pea

I had the same thoughts, but somehow when you dont give it to them in a bowl and hand feed it, they see it as a treat. It really does work. My biggest challenge was keeping hold of the little bitty pieces and not dropping them on the floor. And you can give them 2 or three pieces at a time, keep switching the number of pieces up, sometimes 1, sometimes 3 it keeps them guessing...like us playing the lotto. Holding the food with my thumb against the palm of my hand worked best. I guess to shorten it, you just have to trust the process.
March Dogs
Welcome to this March group of dogs and their owners! Hazel, the pit lab mix that she is reactive towards other dogs. Rip, the Rottweiler who you can’t put him into a crate safely. Winnie, the German Shepard is here for lack manners. We also have another dog who will be coming to us tomorrow. Louie, the Golden doodle is coming for obnoxious barking. Stay tuned to follow along with their progress, happy training guys! Stetson the black lab is going home tomorrow and loves to play fetch and tug!
