Most traders try to guess which way one market will go. Professionals often do something different: they compare two related markets and trade the gap between them. That’s a pair.
A pair isn’t just currencies. It can be two stocks, two stock-index futures, two Treasury maturities, two metals, or any two markets that are genuinely related. (And it’s not the bid/ask spread. We’ll explain the difference.)
