I'm already learning heaps

Hi Everyone, I've just joined the Art School and am excited to be part of this group. Having watched some of Sam's videos already, I am now looking at my previous paintings, which I thought were quite good at the time, and am seeing things that can definitely be improved! Here's one of Milford Sound in NZ that I thought was great until I watched Sam's video of a painting he did of the same scene. I can now see that my painting is very flat - my darkest darks are in the mid-ground not the foreground and my far-off mountains are too dark. Unfortunately this painting is already varnished but I will do it again and work to improve it. Thanks Sam!
