Experimental painting
I still have had no time to paint, but I did get to take my grandson fossil hunting this last weekend so that was a good trade off. Anyhow, I thought I would post another of my older paintings.
This is a slightly stylized view of a boat in Douro River at Porto, Portugal at sunset. My son had brought home some sort of impasto compound and suggested with both experiment with it. I did this mainly with a palette knife, and did the boat with brushes. It took about an hour. I do like the rather impressionistic result. It’s a good memory too (both of Porto and painting with my son).
Pardon the glare on the right side.
Has anyone else played around with impasto compound?
