👋 Hey everyone! Rodney here.
I’m pumped to join this group because the outdoors is where I feel most alive—whether it’s camping, bushcraft, or paddling down a quiet river. A little about me: I run a community called Outdoor Bushcraft Camp Skills, where we focus on practical skills for thriving in the wild. Alongside that, I share my adventures and lessons on my YouTube channel, Blackwater Outdoor Journeys. My goal is simple: inspire people to get outside, learn real skills, and make memories that last. Why I’m here: To connect with like-minded adventurers, swap ideas, and learn from your experiences. There’s always something new to pick up when you’re around passionate outdoor folks! Dream adventure: A multi-day bushcraft camp deep in the Blackwater wilderness— a hammock, and the essentials. Looking forward to meeting you all and sharing the journey! 🌲🔥 What’s your favorite outdoor skill or adventure spot? Drop it below—I’d love to hear!
Why "Outdoor"?
I don't know about you, but when I think of my best memories, they all involve doing something with community outdoors! Whether its going backpacking in Colorado, driving through the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall, or climbing to the top of a Volcano in Hawaii, my best times were spent outdoors. That is why I wanted to create this community. To inspire each other to spend more time outdoors with people and make some memories! Thank you for checking it out! Long live adventure!
Happy Friday
not camping this weekend so I guess the memories will have to do! Anyone have outdoor adventures planned this weekend?

Snook just chilling!!
🌊 Morning Encounter: Big Snook in the Shallows "Just after sunrise, I spotted a few hefty snook cruising the shallows—bold, quiet, and full of purpose. Their presence reminded me how nature rewards patience and early starts. Moments like these are why we teach stewardship and stillness. God’s creation speaks loudest when we’re listening." I know they look small but I promise you they're a pushing 40 in! I saw one come up chasing some needlefish and he had to be at least 45 in. I'm telling you he was pushing 40 lb. Biggest snook I've ever seen ---
