Gostava = would like/would love (conditional of gostar)
De saber = to know
This is CRUCIAL B2 POLITENESS:
A2: Qual é a alternativa? = What's the alternative? (direct)
B2: Gostava de saber qual seria... = I'd like to know what would be... (courteous)
The conditional shows RESPECT while asserting need!
5. "QUAL SERIA A ALTERNATIVA MAIS ECONÓMICA" = WHAT WOULD BE THE MOST ECONOMICAL ALTERNATIVE
Qual = which (questioning)
Seria = would be (conditional consequence)
Mais económica = most economical (superlative)
This is SOPHISTICATED because you're:
- Questioning the professional
- Expecting options
- Setting economic priorities
- Remaining polite
