After many years of practice, a Juilliard degree, world tours, I still found myself asking:
When will I be "good enough" to enjoy playing? Will I ever be okay with how I sound?
I assumed I simply needed to practice harder and "get better"
But I noticed that the masters I was around didn't think this way. Many didn't even "practice" like I did.
I knew that great music comes from the heart and soul, and as I began reconnecting with the love and joy of music, interesting things began to happen: many of the technical and mental roadblocks I had been wrestling with for years began to dissolve effortlessly.
I discovered I ALREADY HAD good time, great ears and a unique voice, they just needed to be unlocked.

- Getting out of your head and into your heart
- Trusting your own rhythm
- Learning to love your own voice
- Following your intuition
- Being yourself even in a "scene"
If you've put in the work but still don't feel free when you step on stage, this might be the key.
