About this Community
This is a professional counselling community where connection comes first, and learning supports practice. Created for counselling students, trainees, and practitioners, this space offers reflection, ethical awareness, and shared learning alongside short workshops and practical tools. Content is accessible, paced, and available live and as recordings. This community is not therapy, supervision, or crisis support, and does not replace formal training. All learning is informed by UK professional and ethical frameworks, including BACP and NCPS values. Above all, this is a space to reflect, develop core counselling skills, and feel less alone in the work. You are welcome as you are.

Community Agreement
This community is a shared professional space. The agreements below are here to support safety, respect, and meaningful engagement for everyone. By being part of this community, you agree to the following: 1. Respect and Professionalism Please engage with others respectfully and thoughtfully. Differences in experience, training, and perspective are welcome. Disagreement is okay; disrespect is not. This is a professional space, and we ask that communication reflects the standards expected within counselling and helping professions. 2. Confidentiality Do not share identifiable information about clients, colleagues, placements, or training providers. If you reference practice experiences, please keep them general and anonymised. What is shared in this community should stay within the community. 3. Boundaries This community is: - Not therapy - Not supervision - Not a crisis support service Please do not use the space to seek or provide therapy, supervision, diagnosis, or risk management. If you are in distress or need urgent support, please contact appropriate professional services for your area. 4. Sharing and Participation You are never required to share personal experiences or participate publicly. Engage in ways that feel appropriate for you — whether that’s posting, commenting, attending workshops, or quietly observing. 5. Advice and Problem-Solving Please avoid giving directive advice or telling others what they should do in their personal or professional lives. This community values reflection, curiosity, and exploration over instruction or fixing. 6. Inclusivity This is an inclusive space. Discrimination, harassment, or oppressive language will not be tolerated. We aim to create an environment where all members feel respected and able to participate safely. 7. Responsibility and Care Take responsibility for your own learning, boundaries, and well-being while engaging in this space. If something shared here raises concerns for you, we encourage you to seek appropriate professional support, for your area, outside of the community.

Check in
Welcome. We’re really glad you’re here. If it feels right for you, you’re welcome to introduce yourself to the community. You might share a little about where you are in your counselling journey, what drew you to this space, or simply say hello. There’s no pressure to post or to share more than feels comfortable. Being here, reading, and taking things in quietly is just as welcome. .Take your time — you’re welcome here.
Week One Reflection: Being Here
As this community begins, we invite you to pause for a moment and reflect on what it means to be here. You might take a few minutes to consider: - What brought you to this community at this point in your counselling journey? - What are you hoping this space might offer you? - What do you notice in yourself as you arrive — emotionally, mentally, or professionally? There’s no need to find the “right” words or come to any conclusions. This reflection is simply about noticing, rather than changing or fixing anything. If you’d like to share, you’re welcome to post a few thoughts below. If not, you’re equally welcome to reflect privately and move on in your own time. As with everything here, there is no pressure to participate. Being present — in whatever way feels right for you — is enough. Thank you for being part of the beginning of this community.

This community is being built slowly and intentionally.
At launch, the focus is on connection and reflection to support counselling practice. Over time, additional content will be introduced in response to the needs of the community and in line with ethical practice. Planned additions include: - Active Listening Skills Course: A structured, humanistic, person-centred skills course designed to support counselling students, trainees, and practitioners. This will be added once ready and shared clearly with members. - Live and Recorded Workshops: Short, focused sessions exploring core counselling skills and reflective themes. These will be introduced gradually and made available as recordings. - Expanded Learning Tools: Ongoing development of worksheets, handouts, and reflective prompts to support learning alongside training, placement, or practice. As new content is added, members will be informed in advance.
