Before I go into details about the changes ahead, I want to share with you the why.
If you have worked with me over the last 18 months, you will likely know about a few changes. After 12 years living on the Sunshine Coast, I sold my little home and bought 9 acres in the country to live my best life full of horses, nature and less commuting.
My little block has no structures, electricity or water, so I rented in town with plans to build in 2025. These went astray (twice) and along the way I bought a cottage ‘in-town’ over a cup of coffee with a friend because I love the security of owning.
As I busy myself in my new home, painting and adding splashes of my own personal style along the way, I am in discussions with the third and fourth builder about design features on my giant sheds and color schemes and tile patterns for the house (two separate projects and builders).
At the end of this month, I step back into studying my Masters Social Work part-time with the goal to be ‘done and dusted’ by the end of 2027.
Why am I studying a Masters with all the other qualifications I have already completed? I hear you ask … the answer is for the community. You see, the people who most need support in the mental health space can not always afford to access user pay services and rely on Medicare, NDIS and DVA financial support to help them attend what they need to. As a Masters qualified Therapist, I will be able to align my work with these funding bodies and by 2029 hold a Medicare number. Talk about long term planning!!
