Why can’t I just take peptides orally? 💊
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, and their specific structure matters. Think of a peptide like a key—the shape needs to stay intact to fit the right “lock” in the body. The problem? Your digestive system is designed to take that key apart. When most peptides are swallowed: 🧬 Stomach acid can destabilize the peptide. ✂️ Digestive enzymes cut the amino-acid chain into smaller pieces. 🚧 The intestinal wall can also make it difficult for larger peptide molecules to enter the bloodstream. By the time many unmodified peptides make it through digestion, very little of the original intact molecule may be available for absorption. That’s why many peptides studied or used as medicines are delivered by injection—it bypasses the digestive tract and preserves the intact molecule. There are exceptions! Certain peptides can be taken orally when they’re specially formulated, protected from digestion, or designed to improve absorption. ⭐ Bottom line: It’s not that your gut is doing something wrong—it’s actually doing its job really well. It just happens to be very good at breaking peptides apart.

So I ran Reta for about 6 months and reached my goal weight. Thought I’d take a break and see what happened. Thankfully the good habits that I formed when on Reta have carried through. Currently running: a.m. 5 amino for fat burn Wolverine + Cartalax for right elbow issues NAD+ for energy IGF-1 LR3 for muscle growth p.m. Tesa/Ipa for fat burn / growth hormone pulse KLOW for inflammation, skin, repair, recovery I’m really liking my current stack!
