Corporations Still Have Grants
Hey Nonprofit Leader, My intention for sharing yet another "simple" grant is to see if it is worth continuing this community. Yes, I'm feeling a little bold with a slight frustration tonight. Tomorrow (or today) is the deadline for the Wal-Mart grant, but there are so many others out there. While I will not offer to "write a grant" for free, I would like to share a few to see who actually appreciates the share. The appreciation is shown by simply filling out the application on behalf of your organization. Here's another one that I thought many of you could really find aligned with your nonprofit organization: the Norsdstrom grant. I will even attach a copy of the grant application that can be viewed by anyone. If you decide to apply, please follow the directions because you actually fill out the application within the platform digitally. A lot of the grant platforms will have a PDF or Word-formatted application for you to print out and draft your answers on prior to applying. This keeps you, the applicant, from worrying about the platform timing-out prior to you completing it. This is also helpful to have your team participate and share a little of their brain's thoughts. A little humor, but seriously, it helps to strategize with at least one more person. I am really considering shutting this community down because it seems that even though people say they want something for FREE, there seems to be very little action on FREE information. By the way, have you completed the grant writing course? I need at least 5 nonprofit leaders from this community to let me know when they have applied. Honestly, that is all I want to know for this post. No thanks, no excuses, just let me know when you have applied. Fundraising course with 1:1 strategy session, along with two different levels to work much closer with me when you are ready. All for a very reasonable cost!

Walmart believes that investing in local communities strengthens our business as well as the communities we serve. Local grants are designed to support local organizations that meet the unique needs of the communities where we operate, build pride among all associates, and deepen relationships with our customers. Each year, Walmart U.S. stores, Sam’s Clubs and Distribution Centers award local cash grants ranging from $250 to $5000. Before submitting a grant, organizations must review the below guidelines. Program Guidelines Grants are awarded through an open application process to eligible organizations serving the same service area that the facility they are requesting funding from serves. Organizations must have a Spark Good account on Walmart.com/nonprofits and be verified by Walmart’s third-party verification partner, Deed. Only authorized users of the organization’s Spark Good account may apply. Grant amounts range from $250 to $5,000. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a quarterly basis: Mar. 10 – Apr. 15, 2025 May 1– Jul. 15, 2025 Aug. 1 – Oct. 15, 2025 Nov. 3 – Dec. 31, 2025 A maximum of 25 applications (pending or approved status), is allowed per organization at any time. Once funded, reapplication to the same facility is not allowed within the same fiscal year. Final decisions are made prior to the next quarter’s application opening. Affirming alignment with Spark Good program guidelines is mandatory for all grant recipients. Agreeing to logo usage and recognition guidelines is required. If recommended for a grant, funds are distributed through electronic payment via JP Morgan, requiring the organization to provide correct banking within 21 days of the organization’s primary owner being notified that the grant was recommended for approval. https://www.walmart.org/how-we-give/program-guidelines/spark-good-local-grants-guidelines
