Feel pressured to change your style?
With the way the game is changing, it seems like if you make rap music then it needs to have some kind of trap drums/808s on the beat. It’s like if you ain’t using melodies or a catchy flow; you might get overlooked. Long term however; it seems like being “different” can get stones thrown at you at first (Tyler, The Creator, for example) but if you’re brave enough to stick to it; it truly can pay off and then some.
Quick FYI: (He has a very loyal fan base, is now a multi-platinum, billboard 200 #1 artist and has two Grammys but stayed true even when people didn’t understand, and some still don’t. He’s even outlasted many of those who started around the same time as him.)
Are you willing to risk it all to stay true to YOU?
