This week I had a small quest and It really helped me to discover some simple stuff once put into practice.
It was a case of learning a cover for some to have a go at in a group setting and in the process of discovering the chords and the duration they are played.
Singing the notes, visualising the chord shapes and verbally saying them out loud while listening back to the track the chord sequence stuck and I was able to play it throughout once I got home.
This is much easier to do if you pick a song you listen to regularly.
In this case for me it was Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd and the only reason I did it was for a group who chose it to be on their set and they were struggling to deliver it for the last three weeks so this should be sorted for them next rehersal.
It was a great feeling.
You can do this too 🙏😊🎸🎶
Try this process for yoursel and let me know how you get on.
