Water and Ice
This is a great example of how immersion helps to learn. This machine was in my capsule hotel in Tokyo and the English made it clear what it was for. However, that helped me to notice the kanji for water and ice, and how similar they were to each other. Every time I went to refill my drink, it was an opportunity to remember.
Water: Mizu (水)
Ice: Koori (氷)
