Chris Paul’s last game ended abruptly due to an early ejection, so he’ll likely be extra motivated tonight. The matchup suits him since Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert tends to drop on pick-and-rolls, leaving Paul space in the mid-range—an area where the veteran point guard thrives. The Timberwolves’ defense is not particularly strong at defending shots from that zone, and they also allow a decent number of points to pick-and-roll ball-handlers. With the Spurs missing key players like Keldon Johnson and Tre Jones, Paul should have more offensive opportunities.
