We live in a time where food is everywhere. Super-sized. 24/7. Delivered to your door. But the Prophet ﷺ taught us something different — timeless wisdom that modern science is only just catching up to:
“The son of Adam does not fill a vessel worse than his stomach...”(Tirmidhi)
And he ﷺ said:
"It is sufficient for the son of Adam to eat a few mouthfuls to keep his back straight. If he must, then one third for food, one third for drink, and one third for air."(Ibn Majah)
💡 Science now proves it:
- Eating less (especially fasting or smaller portions) boosts energy, brain clarity, and focus.
- It reduces inflammation, improves metabolism, and increases discipline.
- You feel lighter, move faster, and think sharper.
We were never meant to eat to the point of laziness. That feeling after a huge meal where you just want to crash? Not barakah. That’s baggage.
✅ When I started eating less, I worked more, slept better, and even prayed with more presence. The hunger reminded me of my purpose.
